Native Instruments KORE Line: The Finger MAC/PC OSX UB ArCADE

THE FINGER provides more than 40 effects including real-time samplers/transformers (e.g. loop, re-arrange, reverse, scratch, heavy granular effects etc.), as well as filters, gaters, delays, reverbs, distortion, wave shapers, ring modulation and many others. Each effect has two parameters controlled by velocity or mod wheel, and is tempo-synced to a master clock or the tempo of your audio host. The KORE PLAYER user interface allows for even further tweaking via the Macro Controls.
The main advantage of THE FINGER is the ability to trigger effects via MIDI keyboard (or the "piano roll" in a sequencer). Four octaves of MIDI notes have a specific effect per sound with their own settings assigned to each. The order you trigger the notes is the order the effects get layered in, so chains can be arranged and re-arranged in no time. Make the last key a loop effect, and you can continue the chain from there, endlessly. This allows you to "play" and improvise with effects just like with a "real" instrument. When used within a host sequencer as an effects plug-in, you can record your playing as MIDI in the piano roll editor allowing to edit your effect chains in a much simpler way.
The potential for creative audio mayhem is pretty much inexhaustible, and it has never been more fun - that is the power of THE FINGER.
Besides the possibility to use THE FINGER out of the box (with the free KORE PLAYER or KORE 2), it can also be loaded into REAKTOR 5, where an individual user interface is available allowing you to setup custom effects to any MIDI note

Native Instruments' latest plug-in combines up to 1024 bands of vocoding with frequency-domain effects and a neat granular synth.
Vokator is Native Instruments' latest sound-mangling tool and can be used as an instrument, as an effects processor and a powerful vocoder — or all of these together, to create monstrously complex new sounds. It is dual-platform, running on Windows 98/Me/2000/XP and Mac OS 9.2/OS X, and can be used either free-standing or as a plug-in. In addition to working as a VST2 plug-in (including under OS X), Vokator also supports DXi, RTAS and Audio Units formats. Installation is from CD-ROM, and the serial number from the manual must be entered. Reauthorisation will be necessary if the computer is changed or if any hardware changes are made to it. Any relatively recent computer can run Vokator, but if it's close to the minimum spec, you may be very limited in what else you can run at the same time.
At the heart of Vokator is a vocoder based on the filter technology first used in the NI Spektral Delay plug-in, and some of Spektral Delay's more complex processing tricks are included for good measure. All vocoders require two inputs, one to act as a carrier and the other to act as a modulator, and Vokator achieves this via a side-chain facility that can be 'pointed at' any audio track or virtual instrument track. Input A can choose as its source a Live input (an audio track or another virtual instrument) or Vokator's own file player, which can be used to play any compatible audio file on your hard drive, including sampled. Input B can select from Live input or Vokator's built-in synthesizer, which offers standard and wavetable/granular modes.
Diverse Sound Sources
Vokator is both an effect plug-in and a vocoder-based synthesizer. Its synthesizer features an advanced dual-oscillator design with dynamic preset morphing controlled by the modulation wheel. VOKATOR's granular sampler can independently control a sample's pitch and time. A full range of modulators - step sequencers, envelope followers, LFOs, and more - can be easily routed to any of the synthesizer's or sampler's parameters.

Based on the KORE PLAYER and its integrated synthesis and sample engines, the instrument covers the full spectrum of the bottom end, from classic acoustic and electric bass to vintage analog sounds and innovative synthesizer tones.
Classic Instruments in ESSENTIAL BASS include fingered, picked and slapped electric basses from renowned sample producers Scarbee and Pettinhouse, as well as an exclusive antique upright bass that was sampled and recreated with painstaking precision. These Instruments are complemented with a large selection of inventive, ultra-modern bass tones that take advantage of the integrated ABSYNTH, FM8, MASSIVE and REAKTOR engines.
