KAT2000 is a Win95/98/NT and Win2K application, which manipulate KORG Pa-series files: current release support style (.STY) and performance (.PRF). Style creation is supported in a manner of conversion from MIDI files to STY files.
This release of Kat2000 application also supports some basic manipulation with standard MIDI files (.MID).

KAT2000 is application intended for users who want to work with various KORG Pa-series files, enabling them to convert convert different I-series styles to PA-series styles, make their own collection of Pa-series styles, performances... Users can even play styles as standard MIDI files (.MID).\par

KAT2000 application supports advanced multidocument user interface, i.e. users can open/edit simultaniously certain number of different file types. Cut/Copy/Paste as well as Drag-Drop mechanism is fully supported, anabling users to make their own style/sound/arrangement collection on an easy way.

KAT2000 supports some standard MIDI files functions!!! You can read standard MIDI files, format 0 and format 1, convert between these two formats, transpose MIDI file, and play/mute, delete certain traks in MIDI files. MIDI events edition is enabled in a manner of Cakewalk-like EventList window.

NEW!!! For style makers, KAT2000 application offers possibility of conversion from MIDI file(s) to KORG style (STY) files. Two different approaches are supported. Conversion from chord variation MIDI files (MIDI file for every used chord variation), or conversion from one MIDI file (all chord variations in one file). For using this application function, end-users should read accompaniment DOC files "Creating KORG i-series files with KIT2000 application" and/or "Creating KORG Pa-series files with KIT2000 application".


Style file formats currently supported in KAT application are:

KORG9 used on KORG i3 keyboards;
KORGM used on KORG iS35, iS40, i40M, iS50, iS50B keyboards/modules;
KORGI used on KORG i30 keyboard;
KORGH used on KORG iX300 keyboard;
KORG< used on KORG i5S and i5M keyboard/module;

and, of course, KORG PA80 style (STY) files.
