مارغريت روم كاتبة إنجليزية. بعد أن تزوجت وربت ابنها بدأت بالكتابة. تم وضع معظم كتبها في إنجلترا ، ولكن يوجد بعضها في أماكن أكثر غرابة.

من أجل سعادة عمتها واستقرارها قررت تينا الاشتراك في بعثة ذاهبة إلى أدغال الأمازون منتحلة اسم عمتها وصفتها وعمتها عالمة نباتات شهيرة! وعانت تينا الكثير في هذا الرحلة المحفوفة بالأخطار لا سيما انها غريبة وسط هذه المجموعة من علماء وباحثين تألف منهم الفريق الذي يقوده رجل غريب الاطوار يدعى رامون فيغاس المعروف ب الرجل الناري بسبب مزاجه الصعب وعناده وقسوته وتعاليه وخلال الايام الطويلة التي امضتها تينا في ادغال الامازون بين الوحوش المفترسة و الحشرات السامة والقبيلة الاقرب الى الحيوان منها الى الانسان, استطاعت ان تحقق عدة مكاسب. فماذا حققت تينا وكيف انتهت العلاقة المتوترة بينها وبين رامون فيغاس وما هي المفاجأة التي أعدتها لعمتها؟

It had been a dreadful shock to Caroline when her sister disappeared, leaving her baby with Caroline, but she vowed to herself she would do the best she could for the infant.
So when the baby's uncle, Domenico Vicari, appeared, with an offer to marry Caroline and give the child a home and security, she felt she could not refuse. A condition of the marriage was that it would be in name only - but when Domenico had made it he had been under the impression that Caroline was the child's mother.

كانت حياة كارولين ليندسي سلسلة من المآسي: ماتت امها وهي طفلة وفقدت والدها الذي احبته حباً كبيراً. وما كادت تبدأ بشق طريقها في الحياة حتى اوقعتها اختها دورندا في مأزق حرج. ودورندا ابنة زوجة ابيها هربت من البيت تاركة لكارولين طفلاً حراماً والده شاب ايطالي رفض القران بها... وتفاقمت المشكلة عندما ظهر عم للطفل يدعى دومينيكو فيكاري جاء من روما بحثاً عن دورندا وابنها عارضاً عليها الزواج تكفيراً عن ذنب ابن عمه فيتوريو… ويموت فيتوريو في حادث طائرة... وكي تضمن حياة رغيدة للطفل ادعت كارولين انها دورندا ووافقت على الزواج من دومينيكو شرط ان يكون الزواج شكلياً فقط !
لكن الامور لم تكن في مثل هذه البساطة ولا سيما في روما... ماذا حدث في روما ولماذا هربت كارولين الى وطنها؟ وكيف اكتشف دومينيكو انها ليست أم الطفل الذي تزوجها من أجله... كل هذا يخفق كقلب جريح بين صفحات هذه القصة الرائعة.

مارييل بدأت رحلتها من بلدها الضبابي بريطانيا بجواز سفر صديقتها شارون للقاء خالتها صوفي في بولونيا فأنتهت في عربة زعيم الغجر المدعو روم بورو الذي خلصها من قبضة الشرطة. ولم يستطع انقاذها من شعورها بالمذلة حين دفع ثمنها بضع قطع ذهبية ليتزوجها حسب تقاليد قبيلته .ترى هل تستطيع مارييل الهروب من روم بورو كما هربت بجواز سفر مزور ؟ ام ان الوقوع في حب هذا الغجري افضل من وقوفها وراء قضبان السجن؟
