قضت آني سنواتها حياتها على الساحل الشرقي لأستراليا. شجعت عائلتها على حب الكتب ، وتحب الأدغال والسفر ، وغالبًا ما تمكنت من الجمع بين الثلاثة. كانت تذهب الى رحلات طويلة إلى جنوب أستراليا . وتمشي في نطاقات جرامبيان الوعرة في فيكتوريا . وتقوم بقراءة الرومانسيات بينما كانت تخيم تحت الثلج في جبال الألب الأسترالية. وقد جاءت فرصتها في الكتابة عندما أخذت إجازة من عملها لقضاء بعض الوقت مع أطفالها. وبين أنشطة ما قبل المدرسة والمدرسة فأنتجت روايتها الأولى. تعيش آني مع زوجها وأطفالها في بحيرة ماكواري ، شمال سيدني.
