اكتشفت ديلين بعد فوات الأوان ان حبها القديم لم يمت , خطوبتها من جديد لطليف واردن , قادتها دون إلى تحت رحمة من كان السبب في دميرها , ولتعرف انه السيد الآمر حتى بالنسبة لخطيبها .
ليلة صيفها الطويل كانت تنتهي دائما بدموع الصباح فرجل التصميم بولد دارسي جعلها تصرخ على الدوام اين قلبي؟ فإلى اين المصير؟

طوال ستة اشهر الاخيرة لم تر شانون خطيبها ريك , وكان ذلك منذ ان سافر إلى إلاسكا باحثاً عن عمل كطيار . لقد جمعهما الحب الجارف وضمهما بجناحيه ضماً شديداً يؤكد مدى ارتباطهما واتفاقهما معاً على ألا يفترقا ابداً مهما واجهتهما الصعاب.
قبيل سفره كان قد وعدها ان يرسل إليها لتلحق به لكي يتم زواجهما بعد ان يحصل على عمل ثابت ودخل مضمون, ومكاناً آمناً هادئاً ليقيما فيه بعد زواجهما.
