Digital Music Doctor has announced the
release of a new interactive video course,
Mixing & Mastering--Know It All! This
course contains over 2 hours of interactive
videos which demonstrate principles
and concepts of digital audio mixing and
mastering using examples from
Pro Tools 7, Sonar 5, Cubase SX3,
Ozone 3, Sound Forge 8,
and Audition 1.5
as well as popular audio plug-ins.
This course contains 17 modules
and is organized into 3 sections:
Overview, Mixing and Mastering.
The Overview section introduces
the necessary audio engineering
concepts. Both the Mixing and Mastering
sections are organized into
a straightforward framework
consisting of 5 elements: Volume,
Panning, Dynamics, EQ, and FX.
The course illustrates the principles
and concepts of mixing and mastering
using a number of examples created in
popular pro audio products.
Examples in the Mixing section use
primarily Pro Tools 7, Sonar 5, and
Cubase SX3, and examples in
the Mastering section
concentrate on Ozone 3, Sound Forge 8,
and Audition 1.5. Audio plug-ins from
Waves Audio, PSP Audioware, and

This course contains over 2 hours

covering all aspects of audio
and MIDI recording, editing,
mixing and mastering using Cakewalk Sonar 6. The course contains 19 modules
and is organized into 5 sections:
* There is a Quick Start section which
covers elements that are common
to both MIDI and audio.
This section provides
an introduction to Sonar
projects as well editing and mixing.
* There is an in-depth
section for digital audio
which covers recording, mixing
and mastering audio using Sonar 6.
* The Loops & Remix section
demonstrates the tools used for loop
compositions such as Grooves and Acidized clips.
* There is also a comprehensive
section on MIDI which explains
setting up Sonar to work with MIDI devices as well as
recording and editing.
* The Tools & Techniques section
includes tutorials on Cakewalk Session
Drummer 2 and Surround
Sound Mixing, as well as a module
on interfacing Propellerheads Reason
and VST synthesizers with Sonar 6.
