في اوقات الملمات تظهر المزايا الخبيثة لكل منا, والكوراث تقرب بين القلوب.
حين قابلت جودي السيد بلايك موريسون اول مرة كانت ملابسات الوضع هي التي دفعته الى تكوين رأي خاطئ عنها. وافترض الاسوأ . اعتبرها الفتاة الطائشة الجديدة لرجل عابث هو جيري سومرز مزراع الشاي الذي تخلى عن حبيبته الاولى بعدما تسبب لها بعاهة دائمة في حادث اليم.
جودي لم تكترث بأن تشرح له الحقيقة بل قررت تجاهله الى ان يؤدي مهمته, وهي ان ينقلها الى كولومبو حيث لن تراه بعد ذلك . لكن المهمة كانت شائكة وتحولت الى رحلة قاتلة دامت اسابيع في ادغال نائية مليئة بالاخطار , حيث الموت يحدث بسهولة شديدة والجوع والعطش و الحيوانات الضارية مضاعفات .. يومية.
